What makes you happy?

I saw that question somewhere else and it make me stop and consider all the things that bring me joy.

Here is my (exhaustive) list:

Cats, panda bears, guinea pigs, animal documentaries, mints, interesting encounters with strangers, sleeping cities, summer nights, discovering new music, fairy lights, sitting on roofs and/or window sills, long bus journeys at 10 am, his smell, the sound of his heartbeat, forests, parks, fields, Tom and Jerry, a warm bed with lots of blankets during winter, large quantities of books and films, Donald Duck, pretty clothes, landing in a new city, bursts of creativity, comfortable silences, baking smells, fairytales, being underwater, packages, the British countryside, flea markets, strawberry and banana smoothies, Russia, researching, back rubs, Disney's Robin Hood, Jungle Book, Cinderella and Peter Pan, hot tea/soup on a cold day, the month of October, dreaming, farmer's markets, gigs, chocolate covered raisins, Anne of Green Gables, time-lapse films, long showers, pumpkin seeds, dictionaries, sparklers, watching hilariously bad films, root beer floats, London Southbank, musicals, watching fireworks, swinging on the swing, crumpets, meteor showers, thunderstorms, lakes and good company.

A lot of things make me happy. I'm not difficult to please.

Talking with my mom, my cat, music that is good to exercise to, getting my hair cut, online shopping, having extra money, strawberry and banana milkshakes, the feeling of being obsessed with something (in an AS way, not an OCD way), being artistically inspired, creating a good drawing, learning a song on the piano, sleeping with my teddy bear, white noise, the sound and scent of rain, the scent of freshly-cut grass, cheese bagels, jalapenos, Alice in Wonderland (2010), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, (2005), Sweeney Todd, Edward Scissorhands, Pirates of the Caribbean, gambling, warm weather, sunny days, the beach, hearing my favorite hymn at Mass, a song on my iPod ending right as I walk in the door, sharing my imagination with others, the scent of lilacs, heavy blankets on me while sleeping, sunbathing, being told I'm loved, being hugged, being kissed, discovering good movies on Netflix, toe-walking, audio visualizers, someone else sharing one of my special interests, running, swimming, the feeling of being kind, doing a good deed, being spiritual, being forgiven for my wrongdoings, telling people trivia about my special interests, hot showers, clean sheets, my parents having days off, having imaginary friends

travel, concerts (especially Lights concerts), hanging out with family and friends, um, eating. lol

Pure unencumbered existence in the here and now.

The Kinks, the Internet and the Olympics.

To see where I am today compared to where I once was. This makes me very happy.

People, animals, food, water and music. :D

cookies, the countryside, the beach, lakes, the sea, my boyfriend, my dog, lazy days, pajamas, violent video games, gory movies, a box of kittens, internet memes, internet people, scruffy hair, man stubble, a good song, music in general, baking, making dinner, a cup of tea.

Kittens/cats, cupcakes, red things, shiny things, red shiny things, autumn, love, hearts, marbles, fairy lights, horses, music, metro journeys, car rides, hanging out with people, scent of men, smiles from attractive men, beautiful women, fallen leaves, earthy scents, pretty perfume, books, shopping, shoes, visiting places from my childhood, Milton Keynes, food, a nice cup of tea, in-jokes, free festivals, swinging on the swing, musicals, my boyfriend, doing a good job, constructive tasks, my writing, thunder storms, rain on the windowsill, a day at the beach, pretty flowers, my period, feeling a little smarter than I do normally, Scott Pilgrim, hugs...probably some more.

Writing, listening to decent music, composing music, playing piano, reading, SCIENCE!! !! !! !, having an animal(or 5) by my side keeping me company, entertaining my friends, dramatic readings, trolling idiots on steam, trolling idiots on the internet in general, 4chan, SomethingAwful, Monty Python, making new friends, helping friends out with problems, learning about eldritch things, employing my knowledge of said eldritch things, playing in hardcore pan flute bands, playing DnD, playing the Star Wars RPG, Larping, building costumes, selling airships to people who need them, Explaining to my friends why I hate animu, planning out elaborate trolling operations that never come to fruition, calling out my friends for acting like weeaboos, beating said friends with a paddle for being weeaboos, laughing britishly(is that even an adverb?), growing Quixotan manly-man manbeards, drawing, yelling at inanimate objects, yelling at inanimate objects in Mandarin, yelling at inanimate objects in Inuktitut.

I'm easy... just sitting and reflecting on the fact that I'm alive makes me happy. Most of the rest is background noise.
