Right now I have a pos cell phone I have had for three years and up for upgrade, I get 1000 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data for about about 60$ I spent an hour talking to the phone guy (he had super bad gas to add on top of it) he was showing me different phones and I asked him more than once asked if I was grand fathered in and each time he told me yes as long as I had it before hand. Once all said and done he pulls up my account and behold they don't offer the plan I am on and if I wish to upgrade my phone they would need to change the plan I am on and there is no unlimited data. What is going on here? I had the same plan for three years I should be grand fathered in!

I signed up with Verizon a couple years ago & when i became eligible for a phone upgrade at the end of last year; I had to change my plan as well. I think what that guy meant by you being grandfathered in was that you would be covered under the old plan as long as you didn't sign up for a new contract however you have to sign up for a new contract in order to get a knew phone or a phone upgrade so you have to have a current plan. Verizon offers a feature for unlimited data for $29.99

No. He said kept saying as long as I was with them they can't change my account, even if I upgraded my phone to the same type (not a smart phone/iPhone) unlimited data is no longer around because to many people were downloading,

That guy must of been confused because I'm pretty sure you have to sign up for a current plan when you sign up for a new contract. I don't think you would be grandfathered in if you got a new phone without signing up for a new contract like if you baught it from verzion at the full price or someone on eBay.
