What would you do having found out we're living in a simulated reality, created by aliens? :D Would you start to treat it less seriously because "it's not real" or would you be frantic with despair because everything you used to believe in turned out to be only one more "Sims" game only on a bigger scale. Much bigger. Would you keep this in secret or would you try to reveal this in front of all humans? Would you strive for uncovering the reality as it REALLY looks? :D

it would depend on what our role in all of that was. If we WERE the aliens, having fun in this simulated reality i suppose i'd complain to the game company about the hole in the simulation that had allowed me to see through the sim. Or maybe I'd actually win the big prize cos that is the goal of game, to realise you're in an illusion!!
If wasn't an alien enjoying myself as way to escape tedium and horror of life as worm like slug in slimy marshes on a planet covered in permanent drizzle, if it wasn't a training ground for us, aliens, recruits to the intergalactic inter-species contact team of some distant star planning on invading Earth, then it would depend on what/who we are really , from where we come, and why they've created this space for us.
So i don't know what i'd feel or think.
If we were an experiment like a human one on bacteria i might be a bit insulted at our lowly status, but imagine what the aliens would have to be like in that case. 8O :D

Someone once asked me, What if were just cartoons for aliens? I thought it was an interesting thought.
Irulan, I would like to know what you think of this thread.

I would find a way to write on the side of a mountain in massive letters something on the order of "LOL HOW DID THIS GET HERE I AM NOT GOOD WITH LAWS OF REALITY" in an attempt to get the attention of whoever's running the sim.

I live in a state of near-perpetual derealisation, knowing for sure that this is all a simulation wouldn't make a huge difference to my life/worldview.

If I belonged to so highly developed race of extraterrestrial beings being able to create whole, artificial Matrix-like universes on their own I would spend many thousands years (taking into consideration that such a race would probably had gain a secret of immortality) concentrating on development of life on my false, imaginary but looking-oh-so-real-that-nobody-would-even-suspect-that-something-is-wrong  planet and observing my people' technological progress. I would be completely unable to resist a temptation to appear in front of some people as their goddess and create some new religions

Cdarwin, I'll write something in your thread tomorrow because I don't know why but I can't get in there :?

LOL I began treating it less seriously about 5 years ago. I wish someone could understand just how utterly confusing this really is..., Life, I mean. Well, whatever it is, its certainly driving me to the point of insanity.
... Think about it, whats next?, well we live for... lets say another 50 years. Then what happens?
We could repeat "life" ( simulated reality) again. then again. Then again (another several billion times)
I don't know whether this frustrates you, but it certainly frustrates me.
The other option is we could die. And that just confuses the hell out of me because the thought of not existing is just incomprehendable to me.
I used to love repetition ( and still do), but when you think of it like this I wish there was another alternative.

you know when the sims came out I used to wonder the same thing lol

First I would try to figure out what it was like on the other side, and if it was even possible to exist on the other side. Then I would abuse and attack the aliens for putting me here (if i could get to the other side). Then I would try to figure out the meaning of life ( or as we know it, because there must obviously be a reason for putting us here.
Edit: I would actually attack the aliens after I have found out the reason fpr putting us there if they dont have a good enough reason.

i think the meaning of life would be sufficient evidence to make the people believe me so after that I would return and tell them the truth, then Id make up some plan about something and eat a chocolate bar whilst listening to some music, knowing none of it was real. Wow, that would actaully explain all of the unanswered questions of science (maybe)--...

Since it's 4 years that already have passed since me posting this, I'm hereby assuming the role of a dead threads necromancer for this short moment to let you express what you think on this

I would write on bathroom walls:

JUMP IN THE URINAL AND STAND ON YOUR HEAD.
I'M THE ONE THAT'S ALIVE. YOU'RE ALL DEAD.
