I used too have a friend and when were both kids we literally looked exactley the same like twins.

i met him yesterday for the time in years even though we look a little bit alike the resemblence is nowhere near as strong as it used too be. apparently my friend at age 11 was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficincey and had to undergo treatment for it.

do you think becasue of his disease that is why do not look so much alike anymore? or could it just be because were not genetically related?

It's because you are not genetically related.

Well, they are genetically different than you. You didn't have a growth hormone deficiancy, but your friend did. It has to be genetics.

You said it yourself: "all kids kinda have that baby faced kind of look which might them look similar". Yes, they do.
Your similarities diverged as you grew older because you each have different DNA. In identical twins any difference is much less obvious because they share (most of) the same DNA, therefore their development is along very similar lines.

I noticed though that my friend started looking very similar too me when i was a kid form the age of around 6 up untill the age of 13. when my friend reached 14 he started too look les slike me and by the time we were both around 15 we looked like COMPLETELY different people but when he got too like 16 he started again too looik a bit more like meand now that we are both 21 we don't look that much alike.

We can still kinda look similar though esspecially when we have the same hairstyles.

when we were kids it could have been as well that we had identical bowl haircuts which can create an illusion of similarity

Well that's when the growth spurt really starts and boys begin to fill out into their adult form.
My nephew's kids seemed to switch from being "kids" to "six-foot teenagers" in a few weeks, after they'd turned 15.

The "growth spurt" is what happens at a certain age when hormones etc. start kicking in - puberty an' all that.
It's when your body shifts into another gear and just about everything changes: facial structure, height, shoulder width, chest etc. etc.
After that things tend to settle down again and what you end up with tends to just mellow and (hopefully) gracefully age.

Many kids look similar to each other and than as they hit puberty and develop, they end up looking like one of their parents or some other adult.

What can happen as well is that sometime in adulthood like when they reach there 30's then look they very similar too each other again. Its like a kinda cycle/pattern. would you agree?

I suppose it's possible, but I certainly wouldn't call it common.

For example: When I turned 13, I went from being exactly 5 feet tall, to 5'4'' in two months. Fast Forward a couple of years, and now I'm 5'9''.

I also have huge feet.

oh yeah anothe thing cornflake........ aparently kids with growth hormine disease besides from being 'chubby' also have very immature and underdeveloped faces for there. maybe that is another reason why me and my friend looked alike for such a long time perhaps?

puberty combined with growth hormone injections can remarkably change your appearence as well.

The way in which DNA affects the growth of one person compared to another is very complex and subject to many variables.
Many people, even without any form of disease or growth-related problem, will experience what you describe.

@MakaylaTheAspie: Yeah - apart from the sudden change in height of my nephew's kids, it also looked like they'd taken to wearing flippers because their feet were so large!
