Do you like any names that you can't use for yourself/kids because they're from a different culture and would sound weird/pretentious on you/your kid?

I like:

Bidisha
Amadou
Alazar
Aisha
Mercedes (I could call a kid that, but it would sound trashy)
Haruka
Rhodri
Ingrid
Reza
Marta actually spelt as Marta (Marfffffa's not as cool).

I don't have any kids and I never really think about other names on myself, but I've recently taken a liking of the name "Yasuki", a Japanese name for males. I like many a Japanese name... especially those for males (Taro, Jiro, Ichiro, Haruki, Hikaru, etc.) I like the Japanese names Yuko, Yuki, Yumi, and Reiko--among others--for females.
I don't think I would give my kid a Japanese name unless he/she were half-Japanese.

I don't know if it is a name from any culture, but it sounds like it it:

Nali (na-lee) would be soooo pretty. And I know that is my WP FB name, but it's not my real name so it's ok.

I love the fact in English speaking countries you can give your baby a name which you can make up totally on your own :D Someone from I think Sweden, once asked on the board about the name from her country, Melina and how the WPers liked it - well, in my country we do have this word but it means "drinking den" :D The names Olga and Marta you mentioned are commonly given in Poland. Marta is very common, Olga is quite common but not trite.

I used to love Hebrew names. This was in my super-obsession with Judaism though.

Girls: Chana, Leah (pronounced LAY-ah not LEE-ah), Rivkah, Avigayil, Sora, Miriam, Aliyah
Boys: Yitzchak, Ya'akov, Yermiyahu, Yechezkiel, Eliyahu, Moshe

Maxim and Raphael. I'm sure there are others I can't remember. I really like Maxim though. I'm not even sure if it's foreign or not. But I know a Russian guy named Maxim.
Edit: I remembered some. :P I like Klaus and Sander and Albi (it's Albrecht but it isn't very sexy unless it's shortened to Albi. :P).

I love that name, along with several other Persian names like Iman, Kourosh, Nima, Azar, Fakhri, Sami, and Mahtab.
I need to get some Persian cats to justify using them.

Dutch: Jeroen for a boy. Looks and sounds "right".
For a girl, I have no idea... Alexandria, possibly.

Persian stuff is awesome.

I've just realised that Reza means contentment. All the Rezas I've known have been unhappy.
