Do you believe your perception is always the correct one?

Any logical person would always say no.

You might know on some level that it's not, but on some other level, you feel like yours is the only true perception.

Why do you think this makes you sound like an idiot?

No but I work on that assumption and constantly review data.

Oh, okay.

Wouldn't working off the assumption that your perception is the correct one make you biased as to how to interpret the data?

Do I feel my perception is always right? No. Experience has taught me different.

I'm always working things out and I'll find mental biases here and there.

It's as accurate as what is commonly known, but I experiment or test ideas out, and gain new insight.

Is Tea's question: how can you be sure of the idea, because we are all biased or shaped by our experience, therefore our perception is our experience?

You can test ideas out by thought experiments. A repeatable "known" phenomenon is a start and it's the only thing we have.

Damn straight my perception is the right one.

*the above sentence is 25% serious, and 75% not serious.

I think my perception is always going to have some truth and some falsehood in it.

However, as long as I continue to listen to other people's perceptions to help improve mine and always look at life through more than just my own eyes...I can strive for a better view of situations, people, and life as a whole.

Actually, I don't. There were many times that I thought I was right just to find out that I was wrong. For me it seems to be 50/50.
