Okay, so my brother is finally back, now that he's out of the Marines. I'd have thought this would mean I would see more of him, just like before, yet no. He's always going somewhere. I don't get it. He says he 'goes where the street takes him', whatever that means. He always gets home like really really late, maybe three in the morning. I tell him there's plenty to do at home. We have books, tv, movies, he has his playstation and ds, the internet. What is it with this...fixation on going out all the time? I know he sees his fiancee and his friends for one. But so often?

When we were younger, he would always prefer my company. We used to do things together, or just spend time together. It seems now his friends take precedence over me. I still enjoy spending time with my brother, and I prefer his company to anyone else's. Why does he insist on spending so much of his time with other people?

Serving the country changes people. He probably just changed a lot.

Really? In most other ways he seems the same. He's still his usual messy self. He still likes sports. Possibly the biggest thing is that he doesn't take an hour to shower and another hour to dress, and get ready. He does all that quickly now.

Then again, he doesn't seem to care about the dog as much as he used to, either. Paco will still be happy to see him. Before he would go outside and play with him. Now he doesn't even throw anything for him to catch anymore.

When brothers grow up the dinamics change (I know about it, I have 1 brother, 3 sisters). He still loves you and he will always be your brother and will be there for you, but now there is other people in his life and he prefers speding time with them, specially if he has a girlfriend. He will probably also hang out with his Marine friends. You have to understand Marines are like a family. His mates are his family now. I will recommend you to move on and make some friends yourself, because what you used to have is gone.
