Anyone else have a real problem with vegetarians. They seem to be so high and mighty and who are they to tell us we cant eat meat. If people could not eat meat how would the Eskimos in Alaska survive. Im a meat eater and dont go preaching meat eating as the ultimate so then why should vegetarians.

I choose to be a vegetarian, but I don't preach to others about it.

Not with any vegetarians but with a vegan who tried in all kinds of ways to persuade me to stop eating meat and any kind of animal products.
Her way of approaching in this really pissed me off.
I couldnt communicate with someone who didnt respect me for not doing such an extreme choise she did!

For every chicken they don't eat I eat two

Seriously though, a lot of vegetarians I know just don't like meat and then put on this whole morally righteous facet, it's seriously annoying.

I don't eat meat, eggs or dairy. I don't use anything with animal products in it, anything that's been tested on animals or wear leather, fur, wool etc. I guess I am a vegan in 'textbook' description but I don't think you should generalize about the attitude of all vegans. I'm ok having dinner with my family even though they are omnivores, I'll just cook myself something, but I'm not going to tell them that what they are eating used to be alive.
Don't judge people before you know them. There are people with bad attitudes everywhere.

I have nothing against vegetarians! Actually, most of the animals I eat are vegetarians. Animals can eat things we can't, and graze in areas not suitable for crops, although their potential to actually expand total food production capacity is not realized in practice. I understand and actually admire the principals, even if I find the nitpicking over restaurants' ingredients a bit distracting. Meat is a part of our reality, and I like it! Nothing better than a medium rare piece of beef that's still bleeding! Blood is good, you should try it sometime! I like animals, and I also eat them. I probably never will reconcile these two facts.

What about those who eat meat in front of vegetarians saying, "mmm, meat! You sure don't want to try a bit?" and so on. Those that do that are as bad as the vegetarians that proclaim no-one else should eat meat either.

I am a vegetarian on the basis, I don't eat meat, but I don't judge anyone else for eating meat.

Being friends with a few vegetarians and vegans, I've never seen them act in disrespect to those who choose to eat meat.

Let's not generalize here folks.

I am a meat-eater, and yes, and form of judgment generally bothers me.

But, do you see the irony in your statement at all? You are righteously damning a group of people that you don't belong to for righteously damning a group of people that you belong to.

That's a bit judgmental. I never preach to anybody about being vegan, and don't really have much of reason for being so other than I'm a picky eater and find it kind of disgusting.

No I have a problem with people like peta. Im fine with vegetarians who want to not eat meat for their health. But saying dont eat meat because supposedly every meat product was mistreted before it was killed is bullcrap. Also what if I want a pet cant I have one. And how would we survive if pit bulls were allowed to roam without being tethered. And I dont go out and proclaim im a meat eater I just eat meat if though I do love their naked commercials.

I'm a member of PETA...
People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.

I don't have a problem with what anyone eats, I have a problem with high and mighty attitudes, smug moral judgements, and having to cook a separate dish for everyone...

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, Atkins, soy-free....
I just don't cook for anyone anymore, I can't keep up with all the special diets.

In other words... food is NOT my special interest.
