Does anyone else have the urge to drive around town with a dart gun, popping all of the stupid puffy things?
So far I've been good, but I really want to pop 'em like bubble wrap!! ! 8)

My next door neighbor has a ten foot tall blow up Santa in her yard. She has the air pump on the side of her house thats about thirty feet from my bedroom wall. I hear it all night. The Santa bobs around all over the place, lit up brightly and we have to hang a blanket over the curtain rod at night because it's so bright, and moving.

She has other yard decorations too. The Santa seems to be a huge guardian angel hovering over the Holy Family, which she has set up right in front of him. With three spotlights on them, to represent the Trinity. On the other side of her yard are life size blow up reindeer. They are much too small to pull a sleigh with that gigantic Santa/Angel/possibly Godzilla on it. The Rudolph has a blinking red nose.

These are left on from dark until sunup. She puts them out the weekend before Thanksgiving, and leaves them up until two weeks after New Year. This has gone on for years.

I don't really get that urge, but I wouldn't ever want one in my yard.
My family has never really been one for a lot of Christmas decorations outside; we've lit up a tree in the side yard before and then put some lights around the front of the house and the back porch... but that's about it.
My neighbor two houses down fills their whole backyard with those spiral light trees, a few blow-ups, and some light stars, etc. I don't think they really put anything in the front besides a wreath.

What I do hate is the exclusively red lights outside. They look satanic.
I like white lights for trees and outdoors.

Oh! The ones that you blow up! The only ones that I really care for are the snowmen, because they look the most realistic.

Dear Olive Oil Mom, Believe it or not, three houses down from me, the yard (which still has its usual pink flamingo standing there) is adorned by a largish bright green Brontosaurus wearing a Santa hat. Yes, I do live in California....Sylkat

No, but I do want to do the Christmas Vacation light thing one of these years. I miss good Chevy Chase movies.
