:(
I was working tonight, I'm a driver for Domino's, and i was making a delivery. I parked my car and forgot to shift into park and got out with the pizza and my car started to roll forward. so i jump back in and try to stop it and it hit the side of the house i was delivering to, breaking an outside faucet, so that water started gushing out and an electrical outlet, there was no real damage to the house, just more the the car. i have a dent in my driver's side fender. The evening had not been going that well to start, and this just made it worse. I wish it wouldn't have happened. no other vehicles were involved. i think its kind of coincidental that sunday will be the 13th anniversary of when i got my driver's license.

That's too bad. If your insurance rates go up or the homeowners sue, maybe you can sue Domino's, and say it was their fault for hiring you.

That's really harsh.
I'm glad you're OK. Sucks about your car.
It's one of those things that you will laugh about when the shock is over and the cost is behind you. As freaked as the homeowners were, they will also have a funny story to tell about Domino's drivers. That's really the only way to deal with it ... pay for it, then laugh it off. If you're really strong, you can also be glad there wasn't a kid in the yard or a pet.

I've gotten out of a car before and left it in gear, running, and on a hill. That could have been very bad. "Stuff" happens, you know.

Ouch that's tough. I hope you're taking care of yourself, you might be a little shocky? Keep warm etc.? Does Domino pressure drivers to deliver fast fast fast - could that be part of it?

It's funny you mention the 13th anniversary of getting your driver's license, I just realized that Sunday is Mom's birthday, she died 2 Decembers ago. I wondered why I seemed to be going on self-destruct.

Is there a way to neutralize these anniversaries?

Was there something awful on that day 13 years ago, or is about the number 13?

If you were working for Domino's then they should cover the insurance, so it won't affect your personal 'no claims'. Delivery drivers have a much greater risk of accidents because they drive continuously in urban areas where traffic is heaviest. It would be unreasonable to expect your personal insurance to cover such risk.
