Personally I would vote the impoverished genius , money doesn't change the world - it's just paper it brings nothing good besides showing material wealth and status.

If I had to choose one I would probably go for the impoverished genius aswell. "Wealthy idiots" tend to be mocked which isn't a particularly enviable position to be in.

An impoverished genius, because wealthy idiots don't tend to stay wealthy for very long. So even if I started out being a wealthy idiot, I'd soon become an impoverished idiot. As the saying goes: "A fool and his money are soon parted."

Depends on the guide lines. You give two options with and end or a continuity applied to either. But impoverished genius because genius can solve or create what they choose.
