According to google, the shadow excercise refers to some pop psychhology thing where you write down everything you don't like about somebody and then think about how all these qualities are parts of yourself you don't like.

Google also referred to an excercise involving navy seals transported in a converted missle submarine to blow up a fake chemical plant, and a martial arts video with a bright orange cover.

Since you're planning on taking wilderness equipment like a poncho, a torch, an a whistle, I assume you're a navy seal, although I don't understand why you would use a whistle on a commando operation.

I would want a way to start a fire. I would carry a magnesium fire starter

Insect repellent if thats a problem. My case i would carry garlic

Tooth brush (I get uneasy if my teeth feel sticky)

Pocket knife. If you have a magnesium fire starter you need one anyway.

It is hard to anwser this with out knowing how long and what type of conditions you are likly to face. However I would always include a good sheath knife and waterproof matches any time that I am going out in the wilderness. Do not get one of those survialist knives just a good plain knife nothing fancy.
Always pack spare socks and a waterproof bag to dump wet cloths in.

How long are you going to be out? how remote is it and are you going with others or byself?

Since you're carrying a "torch", i assume you're either a polynesian dancer, a peasant in a frankenstein movie, or a brit.

For light to moderate rain out in the bush, I've found that an umbrella is much pleasanter than wet clammy soggy raingear that always sends drips creeping through my underwear. In heavier rain, it keeps my raingear from getting quite so wet, so it can still breathe a little.

But you probably know more than me about rain.

Plain old ordinary regular butane lighters work fine for me. If they get wet they dry really fast and start working again. I also carry dry wood shavings in a waterproof bag or some commercial equivalent manufactured by a corporation.

Hate to cheat and use that stuff, but sometimes you gotta.

You have studied your destination beforehand, haven't you? To avoid any hazards? And will you have any other means of contacting the outside world other than a whistle?

Might want to bring a little bit of high energy food in case you get stuck on your own. Nothing fancy, maybe a couple of granola bars and some nuts.
