What could be the cause off this?

I remember back in 1997 only a few weeks before my grandmother died of breast cancer i was in her house. there were nurses and famiyl there and i remember a very distintive foul odour she gave off kinda like fungi. she did not really talk and did not walk much either

is it common for patients with cancer before they die too give off that type off odour. what do you think caused the bad smell?

the smell still haunts me. my grandmother was 67 when she died.
