...Anyone? I want to because I want to keep away from my sister and mother. Of course, my mother is making out that she's depressed because of my decision. She likes basing her depression on my decisions.

Anyway, I think I'll be quite content. If not, I'll try to entertain myself by posting myself Xmas cards and pulling crackers on my own.

One of the best-ever Christmases I had was right after I got married the first time. My ex went to gamble in Mississippi with his parents and I stayed home and had the house to myself. :santa:

I've done it before and it was actually pretty good. Everyone I knew was at home with their families, so I really got to take a nice break from people for about a week. I don't regret it at all.

I always spend Christmas alone.

I decided to do something I want to do this year instead of visiting family. I'm counting the days until I can do it too.

I can't describe how painful it's been going home for the holidays in recent years.

I wonder, religious observation aside, if Festivus might be a better holiday for Aspies in general?

I'd personally love the Airing of Grievances part, though not the Feats of Strength.

I agree.

So, for the Asperger's Festivus, we shall substitute that.

Most Christmas's I spend alone, trouble is NTs cannot understand that anyone would prefer to be alone, so they feel sorry for you and invite you to their house were I feel like some sort of parasite, but I know they are being kind and I don't like to hurt their feelings, so Ive often endured going to somebody elses intimate family gathering just to be nice.

Fortunately I got out of an invite this year as Iam swapping my day off so somebody can be home with their family whilst I shall be at work.

You sound just like me!

I usually work every holiday, or try to!

I spend my time with the cats like I always do. I may drop in at a friend´s place to play some 40K or drop off the Apostles of Contagion army I just constructed for him. Yay for a kittiful, guilt-trip-free Holiday season.

Definitely.

Can't abide people or the world in general.

Just another day on the calendar etc.

The first and only year I was married to my ex, he went to Mexico with his friends at Christmas. I had a great time all by myself, music, food, watched movies, and no abuse. Good memory. Thanks for reminding me. :cat:

Tell well-intentioned person A that you are going to well-intentioned person B's house, and say the opposite to B. Then go to the movies. Much more fun than a wasted exhausting day of endless smalltalk.
