I have something like one but it's mostly just illustrations and diagrams and not really a true encyclopedia. I've been looking online but all I can find are children's encyclopedias. Does anyone know of a good one that's not specifically meant for children?

I assume you are asking about the traditional bound paper encyclopedia that I grew up with. I loved the World Book Encyclopedia. If you check Craig's List you could probably get a really good price for a used one. I think people just use the internet instead these days. I also spent a lot of time reading the CD-Rom encyclopedias before I got access to the wwweb. Of those, I liked Microsoft's Encarta, and a few others whose name I have forgotten. I doubt that they make them anymore. I also just use the wwweb these days.

I use the internet when I'm looking up something specific. But with a book encyclopedia I can just browse through it and every few pages stop and read about something that catches my eye.

World book encyclopedia sounds promising. I'll check it out. thanks!
