Anyone living in NYC?

Are there any Aspies on Wrong Planet that currently live in NYC? The reason why I ask is that I'm thinking about attending grad school in NYC. I've heard that the city has higher crime rates (murders, robberies, assaults, etc). So for those of you Aspies that do live in NYC, do you know any safer neighborhoods in the city for people to live? I'm just very curious.

but if you wanna see the "safest" neighborhoods in manhattan ( and probally the most expensive)

i suggest living in one of the outer bouroughs like queens for cheaper prices
