The Christmas stuff is already appearing in the shops...now that is scary, even if it's not Halloween related :-)

Because a holiday is supposed to "start" at a specific date, that's what makes it a holiday and a tradition. It's just dirty commersialism to "start" Christmas in November or October. Halloween is pretty new in Sweden, at least the anglosaxon variant of it. It began to be adopted just about 10 years ago by youngsters. Before that we just put candles on relatives' graves on All Saints Day, 1st of November, nothing else.

As much as I admire American gun laws and freedom of speech I hate American commersialism and shallowness. Sorry.

Why are you apologizing? 8O

The consumer culture of America is disgusting; I would say, perhaps, it is its worst downfall.

I don't think people are going to call me "Count Von Jason Larsen" sometime in the near future.

Pretty sure that's Michael Myers, and I'm no horror fan...

Anyone celebrate Beltane anymore? Isn't that meant to be a British equivalent? (I'm really winging it here. Most of what I know about Beltane, I got from the "Doctor Who" story, The Daemons.

Don't you make/buy fire crackers in the UK and blow them off at Halloween? Or is that illegal nowadays (makes it even funnier though)? 8)

I don't really know what firecrackers are.

If you mean fireworks, then nope, they're for bonfire night.

What we do in our family at halloween.

We shut all curtains and turn off all lights and pretend we are not in.

If they keep on at us they say "trick or treat?" in that stupid voice and we say "piss off" to them.

In the UK we just import anything America have.

I hear kids hear in UK say "Candy." We don't have to copy America full in full out. We are even copying to be overweight.

No offense American users, but if any taken my fullest apologys. :(
