I've been thinking about food and cooking food and that got me thinking about what my favorite meal is - which is salmon on a bagel with cream cheese, sweet onions sprinkled with dill. I actually love salmon baked with butter, lemon and pepper too.

It's interesting to hear the things other people like to eat because we all have our own likes and dislikes and sometimes it's unique.

So what is your favorite meal or foods? How do you like it cooked and what do you like served with it both to eat and drink?

My Aspie daughter loves spaguetti bolognese, noodles with chicken, spinach and white sauce, and crepes filled with cheese, for breakfast. Those are her favorite meals in the whole world. The kind she will prefer over fast food, the kind she reminds me to make, and the kind she gets mad if I skip one week.

She likes her food cooked. Well cooked. The only food she eats raw or slightly steamed are veggies.

She only drinks water. She does not like beverages (juices, ice tea, sodas...) only diet coke from time to time.

I am actually fairly adventurous about food and enjoy trying new restaurants, ethnic cuisines, etc.

But if I had to choose one category of food above all others I would choose vegetarian dishes with lots of flavor and a soft, well-cooked texture, served over white rice. Indian food is my absolute favorite for this reason, with Chinese-Japanese-Korean-Mexican tied for 2nd place.

Pizza.

Then Chicken tikka masala curry. Even though it's Indian it's very popular in Britain and called a "true British national dish." :o

I have a very narrow "liked foods" list:

Steak tacos

Grilled skinless chicken breast

Fake eggs

Oat meal

Vegetables (well, technically fruit):

Jalapeno peppers

Habanero peppers

Cayenne peppers

Green chili peppers

Anaheim peppers

Anything else must be drowned in Tabasco sauce for me to tolerate it.

For breakfast, I have eaten EXACTLY the same thing every day at 7:00 AM for the past 15 or 20 years:

2 fake eggs (cholesterol free real egg whites) with great quantities of Tabasco sauce & black pepper coarse-ground

1/2 cup plain Quaker oat meal with a tablespoon of raw walnuts and a half teaspoon of cinnamon

1/2 cup unsweetened Mott's apple sauce

Now if that's not an Asperger's trait, I'll eat my hat

Baked potato with cheese and tuna that's been mixed in with a bit of mayonaise.
Apart from that, meeeeat. Especially if it's prepared so it's boneless, then roasted in the oven. I'd happily eat a plate that just had meatballs, chicken, lamb, steak etc on it. I can't stand my steak rare or medium rare though. It has to be cooked all the way through. If there's even a tiny amount of pink in it, I feel ill.
I also like rice and pasta. Some fruits are nice. I don't like many vegetables.
