Not exactly mine yet, but it will be when I get my permit. (Also, this isn't even a picture of mine, I just lost my camera and I haven't found it yet.)

Where are those places? Those look like great stops!

My next trip down that way is to the Hauser Geode Beds. Gonna go do some digging!

Those are all in the Lancaster/Palmdale area. The first picture is a movie set built for an old Dennis Hopper movie called Eye of the Storm - you can probably tell they are fake. I found them by accident when I was visting the Antelope Valley Indian Museum. Also nearby is the set used for Capt. Spaulding's gas station/museum in House of a Thousand Corpses. I didn't know it at the time but the church from Kill Bill (see photo) is in the same area, I'm going to get a picture of my Jeep parked in front of it next time I'm out that way...

The "Star Trek" photo is from Vasquez Rocks, a state park near a town called Agua Dulce. A lot of movies were filmed there, but the Star Trek episode is the most famous. As you can see, it's not too difficult to find the exact spot where Capt. Kirk confronted the "lizard man'.

I've never been to the Hauser Geode Beds, but I've driven down Wiley's Well road past the sign. People who have been there say it is a maze of roads without signs and it's very difficult to locate the productive digging areas. There is a book called the "GPS Guide to the Wiley's Well Rockhounding District" which is highly recommended for this reason (along with the usual books)

Have fun! And don't forget to post pictures...

I've been past the signs when I was cruising on the Bradshaw trail (we started in Blythe and went all the way to the Salton Sea). Thanks for the tip on the book, I will definitely look it up and make sure I have my GPS with me. Those sound like some great movie stops to make next time I'm in the area!

What, is that like a La-Z Boy car or something?

Also, anyone who posts a photo of a woman is going to get it.
