...and I hate flat beer.

I just thought I'd share that with you all.

And for the second 'riveting' observation of the evening: the gammon I had for tea tonight was as tough as old boots. Really, really tough. I thought I'd need a hacksaw to cut it, so reluctant was the meat to cut away.

I also can't stand flat beer, or any drink that's flat for that matter.

Stick it in the oven and let it rise for a bit.

I have no idea what any of that means. You Brits really should learn proper English one day. Is "tea" supposed to refer to a meal, at which you eat meat?

Exactly! Why, I thought this information was so 'riveting' that I had to share it with the world! Should have been on the 10 O'Clock news, so it should!

Merry Christmas, OneStepBeyond! :D

Tin = can.
Mild = a type of generally dark (though there are a few lighter examples), generally malty (though there are some examples that are quite coffeeish and even hoppy variants), generally low-alcohol, between 2.8% and 4% (though there are some high alcohol examples) British (though not all are British) beer.
Tea = used to refer to dinner in Northern England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, parts of the Midlands and is also used in some households in Australia and especially in New Zealand.

I believe they call it tin up in Scotchland, which is where I picked the usage up from.

What would you like as your Christmas present? Come on, Special Pervy Father Christmas is here and is listening. Although I'm probably too fat to be Father Crimbo.

Too fat to be Father Christmas? Not possible.

Too Lancastrian maybe. Too young. Too unbearded. Not too fat.
