I'm with you. Back of roll. If you're in my house and you put it on the front of the roll, I will change it back.

some kids and pets like to hit the rolls (striking downwards, facing the roll) and make them spin in place. if the toilet paper end were on the front of the roll, it would very quickly undo itself and make a big pile of toilet paper on the floor which would be very difficult to neatly wind up again. that's why, in these cases it's better to have the end facing the back, so when struck in the same downwards manner, the end would merely spin around without being undone, since the direction of rotation is opposite the spiral of the paper.

Agreed. I much prefer toilet paper to be hanging from the front of the roll, but my cat unwinds it if I put it that way.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. It's going to be a wad of paper on the floor if Fluffy or Junior bat the roll when the paper is falling from the front.

I just grab the roll and get what I need. No need for any fancy roll holder, or what way it feeds from.
