i was talking to someone who doesn't live in Canada, and i mentioned how every Canadian that i know in real life has gotten frostbitten or at least frostnipped someplace on their bodies. it's not too unusual because the temperature routinely goes down below -30'C (-22'F) for at least a few weeks in my city, and sometimes even -40'C (-40'F) or lower, especially at night.

plus since i am an older generation, parents and schools were not too paranoid about the weather (we always had to go outside for recess no matter how cold/windy/snowy/rainy, no exceptions. and the school never closed due to weather). we would go out tobogganing with no snowpants, wearing thin little mittens that nana knit for us.

so... i have light frostbite (first degree frostbite called frostnip) on my cheeks and on my thumbs. the long term effects are that those skin areas cannot handle cold too well. how about you?

^ Hey, -11 (12) is still potentially deadly, I'm sure

As for me, no, and I don't plan to.

The only place cold enough for that where I live is either Eastern Oregon in the winter, or Mt. Hood. 8O

I clicked YES but after reading the wiki article I've changed my mind. I licked the inside of the freezer when i was a small kid and got my tongue stuck. Can't remember exactly what happened afterwards but i was told it was frostbite. I don't think this is the case

erm, i didn't. i was like a little grown-up, very mature and boring. i act younger now tahn when i was a kid.

what i really meant was, why lick the inside of a freezer specifically? to see if it tasted like snow?

Frostnip when I iced my foot for too long

That's ironic that Brainfre3ze_93 has never dealt with anything freezing.
