Since the current millennium is still in its infancy, I thought it would be interesting to show this list from LIFE Magazine highlighting the 100 most important events of the previous millennium. I found it very fascinating, and it made me feel so insignificant because I won't live to see a fractionable portion of either millennium, the previous or the current one. It also makes me wonder what, a thousand years from now, the biggest events of the current millennium will shape up to be.

It doesn't list me waking up each morning.

Clearly they have no idea what they're talking about.

It's kind of early to even start guessing on the major events of the 3rd millennium.
Possibly establishing permanent colonies on the moon and mars.
The rise of self-aware sentient machines.
Maybe FTL travel, maybe.
There might be an asteroid impact due in there somewhere.
Open, mainstream contact with extraterrestrial life.
There's a small chance Yellowstone could erupt in the next 1000 years.

Clean water sources is probably the most important development of human civilization.

I'm kind of surprised the list didn't include the "Space Age" at a higher rank.
