I have some holdings in British investment trusts, but bought through conventional methods. No experience of the cutting edge trading platforms which you mention.

It is handy to have at least alittle knowledge of stock market orders to make on any of those platforms .
When had extra money used to use E trade .. they were good to me , carried out orders quite well . But as with all internet trading platforms if you are attempting to try to day trade, then understand , the online platforms
Are delayed somewhat in there reporting of movements that happened on the stock market . It is better if you plan to buy and hold . Learn to use various types of sell orders in case , the value of your stock drops .

Yes, I buy and hold mostly. I'm familiar with the platforms and trading. Was hoping to find others doing the same, and seeing what sectors people are active in, and which companies they like and/or avoid.

One thing which I've found to be of considerable importance in trading is the ability to buy in 'real time', ie to be able to buy or sell at the current price. A large portion of my holdings is in an ISA account (on which no tax is payable), but I use postal instructions for this, and it usually takes about three days for the deal to be processed. During that interval, the share price usually keeps rising, and the price at which I buy has often been about 3%-5% higher than when I posted the buying form. I do deal in real time for non-ISA purchases and sales, but I'm gradually transferring all my holdings into ISAs.

ISA - an 'Individual Savings Account'. They've been around for about 22 years, I think, and their main attraction is that you don't have to pay tax on any capital gains or dividends. Capital Gains Tax can be as high as 40%, and Dividend Tax is around 8%, so this is a valuable concession. Your yearly ISA subscription is limited to £20,000 per year though.

that is UK law, don't think the exact same thing applies here except for our typical IRAs/Roths.

I have some investments but idk what they are.
I have a financial advisor guy handle it.
I could look it up online but idk what it all means.
I think some of it is Asian.

I can never spend it anyway.
It's money I will leave for my kids.

I bought shares on advice when they plummeted during covid.
I've probably made a lot of money.

No, I haven't got enough spare capital to speculate with. When I did, the bank offered me an investment portfolio but it didn't seem worth it, and the terms and conditions didn't look attractive.

Nearest I've been to looking for unearned income is watching the pound-to-dollar exchange rate. I have to buy a lot of dollars because I'm paid in pounds but live in the USA much of the time, so it wasn't really speculation. Just before the Brexit referendum I bought a lot of dollars as a buffer in case they voted to leave, and was glad I'd done that when the result was announced and the rate dropped horribly.
