This seems to be the consensus among NTs lately.

I'm just curious.

It's like they see people on the spectrum as very SWEET but awkward and quiet or just plain as*holes.

They don't seem to acknowledge anything in between.

Personally, I can be a bit of both, but I suppose I lean more toward the as*hole side(based on the way people react to me).

I can be one. It depends on if I am talking about a subject I am passionate about and I am in disagreement with someone.
But usually I'm a really nice guy.

I've been told many times that I am. It would help if the people who call me one would tell me what it is that I said or did to make them feel that way, because I usually have no clue.

I really don't know how the majority of people see me out of those two categories. I guess the majority of people I interact with daily go with me being somewhat an as*hole, but I know for sure that some of them see me as "sweet but awkward", if not always so quiet.

Well, some of the socially more intelligent ones can see in between those two extremes, I'm sure about it.

"Quiet=butt hole" That idea is quite a turn off for me. No, it makes me mad actualy, because it's wrong. In my oppinion, the person calling someone else whoes quiet a "butt hole" is probably some insecure whimp who feels a need to make others do as they like. If a quiet type person bothers them, I wander what else they let bother them that easy.

No. no.

IME they see the quiet Aspies as very sweet and sensitive people, when they actually could be as*holes LOL (but probably aren't).

And the other portrait of AS that's popular is The Aggressive as*hole with Asperger's (yes, with a B).

I'm usually very sweet (according to other people anyway), but I can get pretty nasty whenever I think someone's being disrespectful towards my loved ones or special interests.

I've always been seen as very sweet and quiet. But if someone really pushes my buttons, i can be a b*tch.

My assholery is mostly internal. I preffer to let people make their own mistakes instead of correcting them and having to jump through hoops to explain myself and trying to avoid offending them (a mostly futile effort).

I refuse to be one. I don't like hurting people and that's what as*holes do.

An Aspie I knew for many years was an as*hole. Probably still is, but I ain't talked to him in ages. He hates me anyway. Good.

As for whether or not I'm an as*hole; I leave that up to others to decide.

I'm an as*hole enough to post this

But seriously thou people who know me a bit tend to think I'm very sweet the majority of the time but I sometimes unintentionally offend people because of my unique quirks, I also have an offensive sense of humor & I can be a real ass when I'm frustrated or ticked-off
