I find this time of year very difficult.

When I was a kid I would hide in my room or the toilet at midnight because it was overwhelming.

If someone invites me to something like a dinner party I will go as long as I feel comfortable with the people but that has only happened once, on the whole no one invites me to anything because I just know random people rather than having a close group of friends.

So on the one hand I feel lonely and left out but on the other I can't cope with big celebrations.

I spend the evening jumping out of my skin every time a fire work goes off!

The New Year Holiday has never had much appeal to me. I usually spend New Years eve at home doing what I normally do. This year I will be working tomorrow evening.

I just spend the night watching TV and hoping the neighbours don't decide to come over. A couple of years ago, I was trying to watch Hulk when they invited my mom and me around. I was tired and had nothing to talk about, so I didn't go.

My favourite part is putting my new calendar up after midnight.

I quite enjoy new years on the beach - but as I'm a long way away from the beach at present, it will be spent with my autie brother having a marathon of either LOTR or the Muppet Show.

My family never did new years when I was a kid so no sensory problems for me

Can't agree with that more

I always get the awkward feeling that yesterday was last year..and also the feeling of sleeping at Jan 1 and wake up on the same day 8 hours later :?: :?:

I like new years eve. I think it's funny watching the count down on TV.

Where I live, people shooting guns is a problem and it freaks me out. Rather than spend the night freaking out, I medicate and go to sleep. ...if I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.

I usually enjoy New Year's Eve. When I was a kid, I would always to to my cabin, hang out with the neighbors and watched the ball drop on TV. It brings back a lot of good memories. This New Year's Eve I'm going to hang out with a few friends. I'm looking forward to it.

i hate new years eve. apparently its this time of year(christmas/new year) when most people commit suicide because they feel lonely. this time of year just reminds me i have no friends and a crappy family. outings are always awkward. if we are with family friends i will be sitting silently by myself and will retreat to the toilet to get myself together every once in a while. i prefer being alone but i am doing that now and my family is making me feel bad about it.
