So, the final is on 18th of May, and we have started the tradition in our household of having a party to celebrate the excruciating cheesyness of it all.

There may even be fancy dress this year. We have drinking games connected to the acts- (dodgy wardrobe/hairdo/facial hair=1shot, hilariously dated dancing = 1 shot, ladies flashing thier undies = 1 shot, national costume = 1 shot, dancing gurning grannies = 1shot.... there are others but I can't remember them offhand.)

So does anyone else have a party for this spectacle of insane cheese?

No but this sounds like a good idea. I remember some good bands but not too many. Kind of like USA's Grammys.

No doubt one of the non-entities in the Balkans that all vote for each other anyway will win. They always do.

Ah, you're missing the point. We don't care WHO wins. We do it to have a laugh and generally end up intoxicated by half way through. Though we have decided on a "1 shot per act" limit. The Romanians nearly gave us alcohol poisoning last year lol....

It's a tradition that I go home every year for Eurovision and watch it with my Mum (sometimes also with my gran and my sister). I get drunk and eat Chinese food. I even vote on it.

A lot of groups sing and dress as if they were in the nineties. I watched Eurovision in the nineties and a lot of groups back then dressed as if they were in the eighties. Eurovision is always 10 years behind.
