It's the 45th Anniversary of The Summer of Love

But not for me. I know that I could never do the hippie thing no matter how hard I try. I'm no longer the delusional type and I have my own type of anniversary that I'm gearing up for. The 50th Anniversary of The Kinks and The British Invasion. We will all still be around in 2014, so I have my mind set on that.

Reasons I wouldn't make a convincing hippie:

Hippies don't drool over Vespas

Hippies don't dance like a mad man to You Really Got Me, by The Kinks

A hippie would rather buy a model VW van instead of a Routemaster

To all of the real hippies or people who were hippies who are posting, I respectfully hope that you're enjoying this anniversary. It's for all of you to enjoy!

Oops. I think I've made a thread like this in the early hours of the New Year but I might not remember. If I did, the moderators can delete this one.

if i were born a decade earlier, i'd probably have become a hippie.

^ Same as auntblabby, except it'd be about.... four decades earlier, maybe five.

I would like to think I would have stayed away from it, had I been born 50 years or so before I actually was.
