IDK how many of you aren't bronies, but there are worries that one of the fandoms favourite characters, the adorably clumsy derpy hooves(the beloved wall eyed pony shown here)

is in danger of losing her fan dubbed name(made canon in a recent episode, you should have been there, it was fantastic) through fears from Hasbro that "derp" is an offensive term used to mock the mentally disabled(which it isn't).

I'd really appreciate it if we could get as many votes as possible up here, this is not specifically a poll for bronies, this is a poll for people who like the idea of user driven animation. Remember, a vote for derpy is a vote for freedom of expression. Also muffins.

Signed. I love Derpy. She's my favorite minor character. The fanart I have seen that has depicted her as a caring friend and loving mother has literally brought tears of joy to my eyes. I would be very sad if Hasbro changed anything about her. The controversy over her name is just an example of how obsessed America has become with political correctness. As someone on the autistic spectrum, the thought never even crossed my mind that the name "derpy" meant "mentally disabled". I always thought that to "derp" meant to make a funny face.

I'm not offended by the name, Derpy at all. I think it's as cute as she is. :O)

Hahahaha the title of this thread made me think that somebody needed to be talked out of suicide.

Instead, it's about ponies! A pleasant surprise.

Imagine the ensuing deaths that would pop up if we lost derpy! She's the heart and about 20% of the soul of the fan created media in mlp, Not to mention a pillar of derp-ness. And muffins, can't forget the muffins.
