For the superbowl last night my daughter and her fiance wanted to make the food. They are both great cooks, so we were excited. We had a lot of good food, but the best were the potato appetizers. They were so good that everybody ate them before the other food was ready. Here is how she made them.

Wash 4 or 5 baking size potatoes. Slice them in rounds about a half inch thick. Lay them in a single layer on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes on 400. Take them out and leave them on the pan and spoon a small amount of bbq sauce on. Just a little. Spread it with the back of a spoon. Put a little bit of real bacon bits on that, then top with a little bit of shredded cheddar cheese. Put it back in the oven and let the cheese melt. Serve it with sour cream to dip them in or spread on top.

It's easy and it's great!

We also had Ro-Tel dip with sausage in it, weenies wrapped in bacon in the crock pot with brown sugar, two kinds of chicken wings on the grill, and wontons she made from scratch filled with a cream cheese and herb mixture.

yes, that is excellent
I use real bacon grease however
and instead of using the regular cheese
I use the Garlic flavored Parmesan in a jar/bottle/shaker thingy.

Bacon+Garlic will go pretty well on anything - yes - even tried it on a PB&J 8)

EDIT: I don't smoke that stuff anymore (not that you could tell by my post) - perhaps it's a permanent thing :?

I love garlic! I make a bowl of garlic butter every day and leave it on the table. It's gone by that night. I also make bread every other day and leave it on the table and that's a favorite snack here. Slice off a piece of bread, spread some garlic butter on it and chow down.

I roast the garlic first though. Takes about an hour and then I squeeze it out into a bowl and add a stick of softened real unsalted butter. It's great! MUCH better than garlic powder.
