Help! - I want to start at the begining of WrongPlanet (as I'm fairly new to it and on realising/remembering that I'm an aspie - don't ask) and go through it reading everything that looks of interest!

I don't want to risk missing anything that could be important!

Given the huge volume of posts (and having to go to work each day) I suspect that I'm going to find this particular one tricky.

Does anyone else have this weird compulsion / desire or is it unique to me?!

Any suggestions on how to use my time on WP in the most efficient way possible (other than avoiding writing posts like this)?

NB: This can be read in a humorous way. While I really do have the urge to read it all, and actually seriously considered it, I'm now very carefull about spending too much time on such stuff - but tips on how to get the most out of it would be welcome
NB: I did really want the poll question to have two "Yes!" options only, but realised that it would probably annoy folk (including me when I'm in a more serious mode). I suspect that the poll might not go my way ;)
NB: The poll question was "Are you prepared to stop creating new posts on WongPlanet.net to help Paul catch up on everything he's missed!". It's now gone in case anyone didn't take it as a joke, felt sorry for me, and actually stopped participating! (I suspect that I may over think things too much!)

I've looked and read way far back on here before, when I was really bored. It made me want to answer some of them or give my opinion. I think it's frowned on to do that with a post that's 5 years old or more though. So I stopped.

Here is how I do the forum. I start at the bottom and read each subforum that interests me. I've added more to the list that interest me, over time, and now I'm reading them all.

If you are new, or haven't been here in a while and there are a lot of unread posts, just scan the first page or two and answer/read the posts that interest you. I read many more posts than I respond to, so don't think you have to respond to them all.

I do have a wierd little obsession about WP that started last night though. I've started reading the stats subforum and now I've decided to answer every question there. It's only three pages. I answer 5 questions when I look at that forum. Of course, after I answer them all I'll have to keep checking back for new answers and new questions.

Also, I had rarely looked at the games and quizzes section, but last night I couldn't sleep and there weren't many new posts so I got into that one too. I had seen one about posting every time your post count hits a new 100, so now I'm going to be doing that. I try to answer 5 of each of the game posts each time now too.

I like the number 5, if you can't tell lol!

I also tend to post in the wp.net discussion forum too, especially when I see a post that needs to go somewhere else. I'm a housewife, so putting things where they belong is kind of a big thing to me lol!

Oh gosh, please don't read my posts from way back when I first started here. My behavior has changed a lot since then and I used to be really embarrassing.

I've also changed since I've started in 2004. I was very immature back than. I was in a rough spot in the years 2007 and 2008. I came around in 2009.

Everything? You really mean...everything?
It would take you years, and by then there'd be another four and a half million new posts!

It would be impossible to read all post on here. Even the moderators only read a fraction of the ongoing posts - we rely on members pointing out problem posts. There just aren't enough hours in the day. The best strategy would be to start with the most recent posts and work backwards until you reached the point that you have covered all topics. You will notice that subjects are typically repeated as new members join. Some threads are annoyingly frequent such as "Did Adolf Hitler have Aspergers" Grrrr.

I'd be embarrassed if you were to read my posts from 2007 and 2008.

Sometimes it is best to let what's past be past.

I'd be embarrassed to read my posts from last week, never mind last year

You can't spend time reading all the threads - there are seven years or more of them! There are about 200,000 threads on this site!

Wow! Good luck. I like to look over old posts and stuff, but this is extreme.

I felt that way the first time I found WP... I got over it by the time I had read all 100 odd pages of the '[ Poll ] FIRST TIME IN HISTORY!! !! THE NT/AS OPEN HOTLINE ! !! !! !' thread in General Autism Discussion. I will sometimes use the search function to dig up old posts on topics that are interesting me, but in general I agree with the other posters above.
