Technicaly you can blind a "smart" person, same way you trick someone who thinks they got alot of "strength" you use it against them.

Many conservatives fear science. They know their simplistic world views can be shown to be false, so they have been striving to make educated people into some sort of "Elite" that looks down on everyone.
