I know how much Aspergers meant to some people here. Now im wondering though has any other disease or disability meant something to you, someone you know, or know of in a positive way such as the way the AS lovers describe it.

My experiences-
-Mom's friend who was a cancer survivor said cancer was one of the best things to hit her because it made her realize how important life really was and people cared.
-One of my friends also survived it too being discovered after breaking a hip in a bad accident and finding it on the other one. She had been considered lucky.
- My dad's friend had always had a positive out look on things and a sense of humor- After getting toes amputated because of severe diabetes he said the doctor is just trying to cheat in golf.
- Once my mom was diagnosed with diabetes our family started being alot healthier.

In case you aren't aware of this, Asperger's isn't a disease.

I was just going to say that it's not a disease.

Disease? Thirded.

Heterozygous sickle cell anemia then. It's less likely that you'll die of malaria if you have that one, so there. But a disease is a disease though, better not have one.

The doctor who diagnosed was kind of a punk right away he yelled at my parents and called it Asprgers disease so I had then thought it was a disease.

For me finding out I'm diabetic has lead me to change my children's diets to one that is more healthy for them. And take a whip to the Drs rear too.
