Yes, these cats were fired at people's faces.

I remember reading that article in The Vancouver Sun in the World section in 1988 at the age of 13.

I've heard of cats smothering babies faces and stuff to suffocate them. I guess they'd be capable of suffocating anyone if the person was incapacitated enough.

My mother once got a severe infection in her leg and had to be hospitalized because her cat scratched her. She was in the hospital on IV antibiotics for over two weeks. It was really serious. I suppose if she hadn't gone to the doctor she would have died. She had cellulitis. She got it declawed after she got out.

I'm sure that somewhere, sometime, somebody has died from an asthma attack related to a cat. Or from an infection from being scratched.

Sadly yes, I remember a very tragic news report whereby an old lady who had many cats, became very ill and couldn't get out of bed to feed them for a period of time, and the cats did what nature called for, I'm afraid.

Last year , my dog attacked a stray cat that wandered into my backyard and I got bit by the cat as I tried to separate them. I intervened because I didn't want my dog to get hurt and I didn't want a vet bill.
The good news is that my dog wasn't injured, but the bad news is that I nearly ended up in the hospital.
Even though I cleaned the bite with everything I could think of, it still became badly infected. Fortunately, I sought medical help as soon as I realized that it had become infected or I would have been in serious trouble.

The moral of the story is that cat bites are very bad news and if you ever got bit by one, seek medical attention immediately.
