Birds Leaving Me Gifts

I feed the wild birds in my backyard. I also have a combination bird bath and water fountain. every day for the past week I have found a "gift" on top of my fountain. I have gotten 2 acorns, felt from a tennis ball, a quarter inch (6mm) blue plastic ball, a bottle cap, and a small piece of redwood. This has never happened before and I am wondering what will show up tomorrow. We are in a 3 year drought.

I don't know, maybe since we are in a drought and it is so hot, they see the water and drop what they are carrying and forget it. But it is funny that it is only one object per day, left on the top of the fountain.

I guess they're making sacrifices to the god of the fountain to ensure his favour.

That's nice! All my birds do is start singing like crazy and hanging off the top bar upside down when I give them a bit of junk food
