When I really can't sleep (which is often) I like to watch certain videos to calm myself down. Lately it's been mostly fun fact/countdown videos, but I'll also watch/listen to binaural beats.

What kind of videos calm you down or lull you to sleep?

I just recently got into Minecraft timelapses.

@Raleigh I like those too, but it's annoying when the video stops right before the task or product or whatever is finished!

I am used to do the same. I watch DIY, time lapses, cats and all types of assorted stuff preferably with no narration whatsoever. Also, I know this web radio called Rain 365. It's just that - pure sound of rain falling on grass, rooftops, rivers et al. In fact I have a small list of calm web radios but that's my bedtime favourite.

The sound of the rain falling combined with the abstract visual effects of the music player in full screen provide me with a comfortable, spectacular night sleep. Can't recommend it enough.

Calm radio sometimes works better to make me fall sleep than videos because if something of interest happens to pop out I'll be stuck with that video until the end and then I'll have to watch the next and another and another. I'll *have* to!

A weird thing I binge watch when I'm half asleep are asmr videos, this phenomenon is just strange, sometimes I think 'hang on, how the hell is some whispering or scratching giving me a tranquil sensation??' other times I think 'what a stupid idiot clicking that household object', if you've never felt the asmr feeling you'll just look at the innumerable videos on youtube and think 'WTF is going on?' :D Other than that I ensure a boundless conveyor belt of documentaries on countless topics continues to unwind at all hours and watch lots of let's plays and then a soothing minefield of 90's gameshows and cartoons surrounds me permanently.

I easily find myself getting sleepy whenever I listen to calm voices narrating something, it doesn't even matter what really, as long as the voices are calm.

If I use something for that effect, the sound must be fairly low, maybe even so low that I can't make out what they actually say. Documentaries work like a charm for me.
