http://www.landwatch.com/

It turns out to not be as difficult as I thought to get our own vine and fig tree. I found some ridiculously huge plots going for half the cost of a used Camry. If any numbers people can break down how much space can sustain 100,000 of us (this site WILL get bigger) then logistically there will be a better idea of how much land to obtain.

If the population density of holland is used as a maximum, the estimated population density is 400 people per square kilometer. This would mean that you would need 250km^2 or 61000 acres.

This also brings potential for having our compounds spread out among the continents according to where the highest concentration of spectrumites are. Ideally the enclaves are to be far enough away from having to deal with triggers on a daily basis (and threats of encroachment) yet not completely isolated from sources of food and medical attention. For those of us who can drive and negotiate the NT world part of our duties would be 'going into town' on a regular basis to ferry others to their Dr's appointments and getting whatever supplies that can't be delivered. I'm getting a little ahead of myself but whoever else can visualize a reality I'm curious to hear your ideas, it's going to require a joint effort. NTs love to talk and dream, while I prefer to do. Like when I just got on my bike and rode, while everyone else in the interest community sat and rotted

*phwaaawws at all the large land for sale* Ted Turner must be liquidating some assets :P

I saw a cool island for sale near me once. It would have made an ideal location for an autism retreat/sanctuary.

Well if you are feeling vengeful you could make sure they spend their entire childhood being shouted at, screamed at, violently abused and bullied for behaving perfectly normally and then blame them for how they turn out.

2wheels, how do you propose order will be maintained? HK will hunt local pets, ragtime will insist on the teaching of divine creation in schools, etc. It won't be long be you find the residents revolting.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Peasant Woman: Well, I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Peasant Woman: Well, how'd you become king, then?
[Angelic music plays... ]
King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. That is why I am your king.
Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Arthur: Be quiet!
Dennis the Peasant: You can't expect to wield supreme power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

Perhaps we model a system of power on something novel?...

I think the selection of leaders by watery tarts throwing sharp objects at them is an excellent idea, better than the recent GOP runoffs at anyrate. What exactly is the requirement for being selected as the republican candidate, the person who can most out taliban the taliban?

If a watery tart threw a sword at Mitt Romney he would assume his magic underpants would protect him and not move out the way, the system has merit in that it eliminates the delusional.

for some strange reason I visualize either a smurf like village full of aspies or an ewok type village full of aspies each building housing aspies with similar obsessions.

As someone often at odds with feminists, I'm alright with this method of selecting leaders.

Living around lots of people with autism sounds just as bad as living around lots of people without, personally.

Rural for life!

Perhaps a bit farsighted; at the moment the objective is to secure housing more conducive to our wellbeing. Examples of what I'm thinking are military bases, senior living communities, and to a degree the Amish ordens, or communes if you prefer. In particular the bases have their own stores, restaurants and amusements

The idea being: still going to school and jobs, paying bills and such. When we have to start erecting skyscrapers on the plots then there'd probably be a call for drawing a charter.

But having blocks set up according to interests and sensories, that's something. Moar please...
