sorry but the lack of information but can you try and answer this question as best you can.

my mother said too me 4 years ago "your setting yourself up for a very misrable life"

4 years on my life is much worse than it was back then and yeah i do regret a lof things that i have done in the past. what do you think she is trying too say about me as a person and what do you think maybe the warning is behind this statement? From her persepctive how do you think i might have been behaving for her too make that kind of statement? one of my personality traits is that i am a 'perfectionist'

Maybe she was trying to say that if you strive for things to be too perfect then you will always be miserable because your expectations will be hard to attain.

Maybe she thought that your career choice/education direction/life goals/what you were doing with your life was going to make you very unhappy because you weren't being realistic about it :?
