Since this is Random Discussion, I guess Random Discussion would logically attract random people. :D

So:

What are the most random things about you as a person, and as a personality?

When was the last time someone said you were "random", and why was this?

The fact that I'm attracted to randomness in video games and music for example.

I'll pretty much laugh at any joke, even if it's a stupid one.

I like antiquated furniture, instead of modern. 8)

This whole james holmes thing has me preoccupied with making as much fun of this situation as possible, using meme's. I'd post them here but i'm shure someone would complain

I'm always being told I'm "random," but it doesn't come as a surprise.

Randomness:
1) If I see a cat, I will say something to the effect of "hey, look! a cat! I want to pet it!" no matter where I am in a conversation.

2) If someone says something (usually a word) that triggers a memory of something (usually a funny video), I will say something associated with the word that has little to nothing to do with the conversation. For example, someone says: "My week has been busy, I had to go shopping, get the cat to the vet, I went to a few parties, etc." I would likely bring up something like a commercial with a cat in it or a video on YT featuring a cat. I may even mention something about the "bachlorette party" isle at the party store...

3) Saying or doing something completely off-beat

I crack my knuckles like every 5 minutes
I know it'll result in arthritis but it's an annoying habit, also it makes the children go away

I always heard that was not true. I got my RA from a virus (I know it sounds strange, but that is what the physician said).

i have perfect pitch that has become imperfect over the decades. it happens to us all.
i am among approx. 10% of lefties who writes with their pen/pencil with the top pointing away from their left shoulder, this is indicative of a defect in the corpus callosum which is why we are among the clumsiest and most accident-prone of all lefties.
i have a rare form of synesthesia in which i see people's faces superimposed/underimposed on analog clock faces.
i'm sure there are other random things but i can't think of any now due to the randomness of my thoughts.

I have a love-hate relationship with my special interests - For awhile I will be completely obsessed/in love with them, but then one day out of nowhere I will whine about how I don't like them anymore and how I can't ever find anything new that is as good as they are. And then I will start to miss them because I will realize that nothing out there can compare to them, and then the whole cycle will start all over again.

I've never heard of anyone else with Asperger's who has this kind of relationship with their special interests. I've made numerous topics about it on this website and no one else's experiences have even come close. Even my psychiatrist has said that he's never heard of it before. In my own research, the closest thing I could find was the idealization/devaluation phases as a symptom of Borderline Personality Disorder. Which I'm not claiming to have, but at this point I'm willing to look into any rational explanation for my irrational feelings.

-----

Another random thing about me is that I have imaginary friends. They are always based on whatever special interests I have at a given time, which almost always involve fictional characters. That's why my general feelings and emotions are so deeply rooted in my special interests. To me, they're not subjects to be researched and cast aside when I'm bored with them. To me, they are almost spiritual beings with feelings who can love and be loved by me.

I currently own 5 vehicles, but only in my two favorite colors for cars: white or blue. When I started my hunt for a Geo Metro to play with 2 years ago, I would have accepted one in any color so long as it was cheap. I wound up with two of them though: one in white and one in blue. Even when I try to get away from my patterns I can't do it!

I also tend to obsess over singular subjects and absorb a ton of information about them...wait...that doesn't make me weird here.

Some days, I feel more Canadian.

Some days, I feel more British.

I feel more British this evening, because Canada didn't win any medals today.
