I was planning on getting a new phone since my contract was up and I was eligible to get one cheap. I looked online because I didn't really want to deal with sales people trying to sell me things that I didn't need. If I had bought the phone online, I would have paid around $160. A coworker suggested I go to the mall and get my phone there so I didn't have to wait for it to ship.
I finally decided to go to the mall just to see if they had the phone I was looking at. (I hate shopping for stuff like that in person because of the pushy salespeople.) They asked how they could help and I said I want to upgrade my phone and told them the one I'm looking for. He said "We can get you that phone for free today! We're having a special for upgrades just for today."
" 
Okay" I said I was in a hurry and I just wanted the phone and a case (to try and limit the small talk and up-selling attempts) so it all went relatively smoothly. 
So sometimes going to a store pays off big time!

I actually don't really mind going to the mall. I usually have my ear buds in and listening to music so I don't really have to interact with people.
