I saw a man walking down the street wearing a kilt and I thought it looked kinda silly. I can see wearing a kilt at some sort of event, parade, ceremony or whatever but not for walking a dog down the street.

I guess he likes Scottish fashion...…

How would you feel if he, all of a sudden, started to play the bagpipes?

It wasn't tartan kilt. Just solid dark green. What I think they call a utility kilt. The rest of the outfit was a t-shirt and sneakers. Maybe that's why it looked kinda silly to me. I wonder if anyone in the UK would wear such a thing out stolling or if it's an American anglophile thing.

I would feel pretty silly in it myself. And not comfortable.

I guess it's something to laugh at. But don't do it to his face LOL

I didn't have that kind of reaction to it. More of a shrug whatever. People can wear whatever they want as far as I'm concerned. The comment you made about bagpipe playing reminded me of this guy.

I've sometimes wished that I had the bottle to wear a kilt. I don't like clothes that are too tightly fitted, and I walk a lot which makes me sweat buckets in, erm, embarrassing places A bit more fresh air round my nether regions would be quite pleasant I think, and I do have some Scots ancestry. I'm just too self-conscious about the attention it might draw, especially with my hideously bony legs, though I have known a few people who wear them regularly (usually the tartan kind.)

If others feel comfortable wearing them, that's no problem to me - though I would rather they left their bagpipes at home, thanks!
(Trivia factoid: Bagpipes can be deadly! The bacteria that live in the lining of the bagpipe's traditional "animal parts" air bladder can give you a very nasty lung infection.)

I'm assuming it goes "suck, blow, squeeze" but I'm no expert!

I had to look up a moxie but, yes you're right, bottle up your courage.
