I think it is very dumb. It's just violence.

I do. I also don't think it teaches good values in children.

It used to be more violent in the 90's with all the hardcore matches and you actually saw blood. It is simply entertainment that doesn't bother me nor do I care for it.

"professional" (wwe) wrestling is dumb. Actual wrestling is not.

Fake wrestling- Bad Acting, predictable plots, steroid filled male models and scantily clad attractive women to attract more viewers, and opiate addictions due to the dumb and damaging things they do.
Real Wrestling- Great because it teaches good morals, highly effective self defense, and athleticism.

I don't care for the WWE, but I enjoy traditional wrestling.

To me wrestling comes across as entertainment not a sport.

I wouldn't want my niece and her friends to be watching WWE on TV. They'd try to copy all the moves. It teaches kids violence.

I find that a lot of general distaste with the sport comes from people's hatred of the WWE. Well, the truth is, the WWE is not wrestling. They're actors, its a soap opera for men.

Wrestling as visual entertainment or sport? No way! WWF wrestling is choreographed mayhem, nothing more.

However, what two people consent to in the privacy of their own home gym is not for me to judge.

I don't like WWE, but traditional wrestling is fine. It's actually one of the more popular sports at my school.

The purpose of entertainment is to entertain. Clearly, a statistically significant number of people are entertained by it, therefore it's fulfilling its purpose.

That wasn't the question...

I don't personally enjoy it, but I could only view it as dumb if it did not fulfill its purpose.

Regarding WWE, eh, it can be fun to watch once in a blue moon. I never got into it as a kid. Dumb, sure. But, fun sometimes.

It's definitely swimming in the shallow end of television's intellect pool.
