It's seem like they have nearly disappeared. I'm seeing fewer and fewer each year. The ones at a nearby gas station just recently vanished. What if someone has an emergency and they either don't have a cellphone with them or it's malfunctioning?

Yeah you don't see very much of them around anymore.

I actually had that happen a couple of months ago. In my case it was a vehicle breakdown but definitely a 4.4 scale meltdown. If it would have been a serious accident, I've seen that passersby are quick to stop and ask if help is needed, at least on busier thoroughfares. If I was on a country road I'd probably be better prepared for that contingency

My friend actually told me of one in his area that also has web and text abilities, so their not completely forgotten yet. There are also 2 round the corner from me, not that fancy though unfortunately.

(sings) I'm at a payphone, trying to call home, all of my change I spent on you...

But anyways, yes, it does seem like they've all but disappeared. When I was 6, I remember seeing them everywhere.

Yah, they're becoming rarer and rarer. I think I can still think of a few around where I live though (in malls and grocery stores etc.).

The 1s in my area have been replaced by that vending machine thing that people rent DVDs from

Apart form the Blue Mountains that was the most memorable sight seeing event * I saw their once you've seen the strange and slightly dilapidated looking building on water with the bland water crossing to it's left what than ?

Sorry not a fan of Sydney  i think Melbourne is a far more interesting city with it's Victorian era architecture :D AKa whore house rococo meets bordello baroque
If I wasn't so settled here I'd live their in a heart beat.

*and having a Coopers Sparkling ale in that character filled pub in Redfern , best beer I've ever had it was gassed perfectly served at the correct temperature and for the fact Sydney is a little closer to Adelaide fresher , we cant get it on tap here in little old Brissie so it didn't suffer form the effects of "light srike"

I'm just glad I'm aspie with it's simple pleasures I ain't spending 100's of dollars to climb a bridge when 20 meters or so down I can walk it for free
