For my part, i´d never wanted to leave Austria. :)

So much of the flora and fauna and the language is the same, but for me there are still some differents. So both had been greater empire once, but when germany "only" was an empire of united german states austria was an empire of united states of many different cultures. So sadely the austrian/german culture had been favorized, but as a center of a multicultural empire there were thousends of travellers like officials, military, aristocratics, artists who had to travel between their homlands and the capital city. Bringing with them thousends of new influences in music, culture, lots of different foods and cooking styles and so on. :) There is a huge amount of typical "austrian recipes" which are based on cooking styles of the different countries, which i would not like to miss.

My mom is french, and i have the feeling, that austria is a little more open to foreign things like music or food then germany. (As long as its foreign european. When it comes to foreign things outside of europe they match up. ^^) So Berlin is much bigger then vienna, still its easier for me to find offers of french opera or other cultural offers which are not so mainstream.

And our restaurants are owned by people who know how to cook and spice. XD (Just a joke, but there seem to be small difference at the preferences, when it comes to eating.)

And the germans have no tempo limit on part of their highways. (O_o)

And a part of the germans seem to be unable to be relaxed if its not official "karneval" or "ballermann"-holiday. In exchange for the 11 months they are not allowing themselfs to have fun and be relaxed, they try to gather all the fun of the year into one month, creating murderous thoughts of german partypeople genozide in the surrounding persons. (Just kidding. But never ever would i go to "ballermann". = famous party island of german youth.)

Important to say, that the mentioned above only applies to the germans living north of the "Weißwurst"-equator. The bavarians (living south) are ok...they even speak proper german (similar to austrian dialect) instead of the rest.

And yes, parts of my stamement are meant funny, not insulting. It´s a austrian/german tradition to pick a little bit on each other, but its usually not meant in a bad way. :) So when it comes to Online games and so on, the communities of Germany/Switzerland/Austria and northern tyrolia (part of Italy, where german is spoken) do normally not part by origin and are mixed up in the differents groups and guilts. You just are not allowed to take everything serious, so making joke insults out of fun happens occasionally, specially when there are sports events. But its distributed fair, so in summer the german can laugh because they are good in football, and in winter we are laughing at the germans who cant ski. XD

I personally want to visit both some day. I wouldn't be able to choose.

Now that I think about it, I also want to visit Switzerland.

Both Germany and Austria have awesome history, although I would be inclined towards Austria. After all, Marie Antoinette was an Austrian Archduchess, and Maximilian I of Mexico was born an Austrian Archduke. The Habspurgs were awesome, both the Austiran and Spanish branch.

I'd recommend VooDoo Doughnut.

So we are not proud of it, but sadly Fritzl AND Hitler were born in Austria. ^^(Due to the culture mix in the capital city vienna, he hated it and people think, that his hate for foreign countries and his favorizing of all central german started here. -.-) When he was young he tried to get to the viennese academy for artists, but failed (and seemed to have thought this would be because of all the foreign influences like modern art and so on ruining the german culture of natural painting gnagnagna...), so he stayed a while living in an house for homeless men, got a bit famous among them for endless prating and earned some money by painting postcards for tourists until he gave up and went to germany.

So you always hear that much about german quality, but when it comes to leading a whole country and army, by an homeless runaway postcard painter, the quality assurance team seemed to be sleeping.

So, if anyone needs a leader for his nation and army, and you dont have any quality standards either, we still got lots of crazy unsuccessful street artits left for all of you. :) So minimum quality standards for presidents and army leaders are simply overvalued. Just like spicing due to german restaurants.

( And yes, just joking. ^^)

Definitely Germany. Go to Germany. Its people are fun to be with, they like newcomers, are open-minded, like a good beer and food and they like to hang with their neighbours. Austrians are kind of nice, but mostly solemn and withdrawn and - my personal issue with them - they hate the Czech for breaking their Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Explanation: We Czechs were under their rule for 400 years, so it´s obvious we got finally fed up with it. They let us work for them. That´s why they built 60-80 percent of their manufactures and factories in Bohemia (Czech republic). However, after The First world war The Empire fell apart forever. The countrie the Habsburgs used to rule became sovereign states and the Bohemia became Czech republic (though we were officially called differently back then). The Austrians had to leave our country and let all their factories and companies HERE. They could not even profit from it, ha! Because we became independent, we literally robbed them of everything just by it. If I remember well, we earned a huge amount of money like that, and we even became the sixth richest country in Europe (because all the INDUSTRY of the Empire was in our country). They still can´t forgive it to us, even if it was unintentional. And they don´t like us even more because it´s said that every second Austrian has a Czech grandmother. Because of our former union, we mingled with them a lot.

Austria has better beach front property to invest in.

Every Nigerian real estate agent on the internet will tell you that!
