So there I was, in an identikit Sainsbury's supermarket in the city, browsing its homogenised wares. And what little packet caught my eye? It was beef jerky, of course. So I decided to purchase some. It is at this point that I should probably point out that I have ordered something similar before in peppered beef nuggets, which were fine when you've got a cold and can't taste it but the minute that cold disappears...

I pay for them and bring them home. Eventually (well, about ten minutes later actually) I decided to try them. I made it through half the bag and threw them away. They are offensive to all senses of good taste. It's like chewing old leather, with the beef only slightly spicy yet tremendously off-putting. You couldn't pay me to eat that again. Absolutely vile.

Now, brethren and sistren of WrongPlanet, I pass the baton over. Can you name a particularly disgusting new food you've tried? Answers preferably not on a postcard please. :)

Mind you Marmite looks like what you've just got stuck on your fingers after putting your hand up a cat's arse.

No, no no no.

I haven't been doing that. :x

It was of Billy Connolly's Tour in Australia.

When it shows brief times in his standup form in Australia. He said that bit about Marmite. :)

I've tried Haggis, and I've found it quite pleasant.

Strangely, I saw a packet of beef jerky for the first time just yesterday. It looked foul, so I didn't buy it.

So is haggis a better food, or a better projectile?
