Is the chihuahua the most preferred dog breed by sociopaths?

It seems that a lot of people seem to claim that this is the case, but is it necessarily true?

I personally have to admit I haven't met a humble chihuahua owner yet, but that could be just me.

I never heard of any connection between psychopathy and the cute, big eyed, big headed dogs, but I recently read on some psycho board such a talk:

"Psychos, do you find things cute? Like babies, pets etc."

"Yes, but in a different way than normal folks. I'm like: oh, that's so f*****g cute and innocent, I want to punch it in the face."

My family had two long-haired chihuahuas because of my sister and her asthma (I'm not sure how it relates either). I loved them both to bits. I remember coming home from school feeling unwanted, and they would both wag their tails and act like I was the best thing in the world. I still miss them.

If I was ever going to own a dog again, it *might* be a long-haired chihuahua (breed between a butterfly dog and a chihuahua) because when their ears pop up, they look a bit like gremlins.

My photo of them (taken on a phone):

My childhood neighbors had a chihuahua. I liked the neighbors, but hated the dog. And it was mutual.

Chihuahuas are just generally popular, aren't they?

My brother in law's ex girlfriend has a Chihuahua. He is very annoying. Her six year old daughter calls him stupid as his nickname. I dunno if she still does it, she was five then when she did it.

From what I understand chihuahuas aren't that easy to train. Why would a psychopath want a dog that's hard to control? They'd probably end up killing it in a few days.

Perhaps it's related to that many (not all) persons looking for a Chihuahua are also the ones that want their surroundings to fit their view of right fashion and friends orientation. And that kind of dog fits the bill. It's also popular with celebrities. People that doesn't fit their framework will be treated like rejects.

Sounds like a correct analysis?

Its small, shivers, has bug eyes. Its hyperactive and highly annoying breed. Hearing it running around the floor sounds just like a roach too.

I think chihuahuas bring out the sociopathic tendencies in normal people. :P

We have 7 chihuahuas, and neither my wife nor I would be considered sociopaths in any way... I know plenty of other people who love chihuahuas, and also who are positive contributing members of the community.

Two very well behaved and trained chihuahuas here. I'm definitely not a sociopath, although some would argue the point.

Impossible. Sociopaths are intelligent, charismatic, and manipulative. Chihuahuas aren't much of any of those.

They certainly are pure evil, however.

Chihuahuas are the most aggressive dog in existence. But the smallest dogs are always the most aggressive, and have the highest rate of biting people. So I would say by quantity, sociopaths probably more pitbulls than any other breed of dog, because pitbulls are good for intimidation, antisocial/felonious use and are ruthless/relentless by nature if trained correctly (raised incorrectly).
