This is one of my hates.
There I am sitting minding my own business and I am expected to stand up stick my hands in the air and sit down again in time with everyone else. WTF!

Don't have to. as long as most people in the audience do it then it's fine. I doubt anyone would care if only a small percentage of people stay sat. Personally I think these waves are awesome, a crude but fun example of group coordination.

I expected it to be a singular effort. They don't bother me as much as people who refuse to sit down, drink, bellow and are constantly in and out of their seats
