Any keen Scouts out there?
Okay, so it's like this.
I'm a Scout (well now I'm an Explorer Scout), and have been a keen member for the last five years. I really like it because I enjoy the type of activites; the being able to talk to nice adults and the like minded kids. Plus, I want to be a Young Leader. Not to mention what we get to do.
...And then, I was reading this advice guide article by a lady with an ADHD/autism son, to parents with kids with similar issues, and she said: "Church youth clubs and scout teams are often run by wonderful, forgiving people with a moral compass and a feel for difficult kids." Read the rest here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/ ... ren-advice
And then I thought about how, in my Scout group there is at least two autistic boys, one with learning difficulties, one girl with learning difficulties and one who definately seems autistic. And then, I went on a Scouting event and met an AS girl.
So is anyone else a Scout/Guide? Britain or elsewhere? Leader?
I'm also curious, did anyone on here go to Gilwell 24 (2012)?
Much obliged - I'm just curious.
