With terrorism, war, anarchy in foreign countries, recession, unemployment and less and less natural resources, it seems that is turning more into a reality. Have you ever prepped or even pondered what you would in this type of scary event?

Haha, yep!! A few months ago you wouldn't have been able to talk about this stuff casually!! Nowadays it's getting worse and worse exponentially! I've been trying to teach myself how to fight, I've learned parkour for fun reasons, and other stuff.

The good thing about Aspies is that we will obsess about something until we make it perfect, in this case that is definitely an advantage. I am trying to teach myself as many survivalist skills as possible, including becoming an expert at shooting, hunting, fishing, camping, etc.

No. I don't worry about those things at all. If something happens, oh well. I only care about the present, not the past or future.

Thanks. :D

More seriously, I do think hard times are coming but I do not think doomsday is coming. Not to say hard times aren't already here, I just mean I think things will get worse before they get better.

What I cannot stand is the zombie obsession.

This isn't a poke at you, JBO. It's just getting on my nerves...how completely immersed people are in the zombie crap.

Really? Let's get to reality people....

We've had "terrorism, war, anarchy in foriegn countries, etc" for the last 2000 years. Why should we be suddently worried about it now?

Well yes a person would do good to prepare. Fella I know has a cement pond which holds 10 thousand gallons (play pool they call em in God's Country) and a bunch of bullets. Country boys will survive to coin a phrase from our old pal Bocephus. Also several cans of Beanie Weenies and plenty of hooch. Think that Boy will do ok when Californistan and Chicagostonia decides to try seceding or some other heinous activity.

Yes, but not in the context of major disaster. I'm more worried about power failure, water pipes bursting, my car breaking down, my apartment flooding etc. My therapist actually suggested I think out contingencies for all of these things. I guess I suppose that might help? I haven't tried yet. I'm nervous that all that will happen when I attempt such a thought exercise is anxiety spike. She thinks that since I don't usually think further than bad things happening, if I think about how I would really deal with them if they did happen should help me feel better. CBT can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

I would post a couple of links to how close a zombie invasion could be with modern science, but lets not fuel that fire ;)

Im ready. I have a plan already. Soon as theres the slightest hint of trouble, i know a guy with access to a large truck and a sportscar. Mad Max here we come :D

I want to prepare but I'm too poor. It never hurts to have some extra food and supplies on hand. If nothing happens you'll use them eventually anyways.

True, but those weapons of mass destruction seem to be growing in numbers now days, and I bet there are people who just can't wait to get their hands on a few.
