Hello.

Is there any chocolate brand that produces chocolate (chocolate made from cocoa) with definitely no cockroach pieces in it? I'm very disappointed that most/all chocolates have cockroach pieces in them. If you know any brand that guarantees the absence of cockroach in its chocolate, please let us know.

:? But cockroach is rich in proteins and chitin. Not sure why you would want to remove the most nutritious ingredient of chocolate. Also, they're relatively cheap, and they're easy to breed.

But chocolate wouldn't be the same without cockroaches... where do you think the crunch comes from in nutty chocolate? :P

Last I checked, I didn't hear about any cockroach pieces in chocolate. It's probably just some old wives' tale.

The ones with spiders in them don't have cockroaches in them, because the spiders have already eaten the cockroaches before the chocolate is made.

There are bugs in chocolate? Awesome! Though being crushed to death just to be in chocolate is a terrible death, I must admit.

I almost drank a spider once (it somehow got in my coffee) and was somehow not freaked out. So a miniscule amount of insect particles that may or may not be in my chocolate don't worry me. Perhaps you should write a letter to the chocolate companies and find out how many cockroach pieces per pound they consider acceptable?

Once I ate half a box of Cracker Jacks before I realized there were ants in it.
Another time I canned some pickles and added good stuff like grape leaves and dill sprigs,AND a really, really big grasshopper that I didn't see.He must have been in a grape leaf.
No telling how many rat turds are in chocolate.Raisinets anyone?

There are bugs in our food already anyway.

They are called "cochineal beetles" (also labeled as "carmine" or "E120".)
They are dried and ground up and widely used as red coloring in a variety of products such as jam, yogurt, sausage, candy, juice and more.
Starbucks stopped using it in their products earlier this year.
It's much healthier than the synthetic food dye though.

Actually the red food color that doesn't give me heart burn so keep it quiet I don't want it replaced with synthetics. :shameonyou:
